After spending time on the Boston club circuit, under the guidance of their manager of the first time, Frank Connelly, the band began working with New York managers Steve Leber and David Krebs. In 1972 they signed a recording contract and released their debut album. The album was followed in 1973 by Get Your Wings. Toys in the Attic. Rocks. And Draw the Line. These albums helped Aerosmith to gain fame internationally. These albums produced famous hits like "Dream on", "Walk This Way" as well as "Sweet Emotion". Aerosmith's first five albums had multi-platinum status. Toys in the Attic and Rocks were also multi-platinum. As time went on however, the band's life of constant traveling, recording, and living together started wearing their bodies. Because of their famed use of stimulants and heroin, Tyler and Perry were identified as the Toxic Twins. Aerosmith Behind the Music and many video releases of Aerosmith reveal their relationship. Tyler was apparently more dedicated to the group and appeared to be more irritated by Perry's lack of interest. Perry, however, liked Tyler's choices for females she dated. Aerosmith was declining around 1980 because of tensions between Perry and Tyler.
